Cinfa takes part in “Al Andalus Innovation Venture 2023
From 26 to 27 September, Seville became, for the second year running, the national headquarters for scaleups and startups at the “Al Andalus Innovation Venture”, an entrepreneurial and business meeting promoted by the Regional Government of Andalusia and Seville City Council. The aim of the event is to promote innovation in Andalusia through interaction and networking.
The second edition of this event was attended by more than 1,900 people, with 400 startups, 174 exhibitors, 155 investors and 72 corporations, including Cinfa, with its open innovation platform CinfaNext.
Our participation at “Al Andalus Innovation Venture”
In this new edition, we named one of the rooms the CinfaNext room, where several startup pitches took place and more than 80 people gathered. We began the first day by presenting CinfaNext, followed by the Health vertical event, where six health startups presented their projects in this field. Other topics addressed in this space included cleantech (companies that incorporate clean technologies into their production chains), fintech (companies that use technology to improve financial services and processes) and artificial intelligence.
On the second day, our Head of Innovation at Cinfa, Julio Sánchez Mariñas, took part in the roundtable discussion “The innovation revolution in the Health sector”, moderated by Marja Huiskamp, Director of Communication at Barcelona Health Hub, which also featured Antonio Velasco, Technology Data Solutions Head Innovation at AstraZeneca, and Gemma Estrada, Digital Director of Health and Technology at Ferrer4Future.
The debate addressed various topics related to digital health, with special emphasis on the importance of technology in this field and how it is transforming the way in which patients and users actively care for their health.
Telemedicine; the usefulness of mobile health applications for monitoring chronic diseases, managing medication and promoting healthy habits; and artificial intelligence (AI) for medical diagnosis and disease detection were other of the main topics discussed at the roundtable.
In short, “Al Andalus Innovation Venture” was the perfect meeting place for key players in the sector to discuss the future of healthcare; a future that is full of challenges, but also of opportunities.
